The extremely rare Guild 100 series guitars are without doubt the most beautiful acoustics ever built by Guild. The maple and abalone bound rosewood bodies are combined with a natural finished, hand-shaped mahogany neck with ornately carved heel. The ebony fretboard has distinctive cloud inlays of abalone and an abalone-inlaid, multi-layered headstock. These instruments were made to order in extremely small numbers at Guild's famed Westerly factory, and used only the finest AAAA-grade Sitka Spruce and East Indian Rosewood available.
This 1990 model is in superb condition, with very little play wear and minimal polishing swirls. It's absolutely a closet queen, and looks stunning in person. The workmanship on the heel alone is jaw-dropping! Sonically, it has an even deeper, richer tonality than Guild's standard dreadnoughts, with enormous dynamic range and headroom. Chords are full and thick, and single notes are round and warm - it's the perfect rosewood dreadnought sound!
The D-100 is long discontinued and rarely seen, and this is likely the only one in Australia. It's a true statement piece and deserves to take its place among the greatest dreadnoughts of all time. Includes original hardshell case.
