The Lowden O-35 is a premium acoustic guitar crafted for the discerning player seeking extraordinary tonal nuance and visual elegance. The O (Original) body size delivers deep bass response and a wide dynamic range, perfectly complementing the warmth and complexity of the cedar top. Paired with the rich overtones and stunning clarity of rosewood back and sides, this instrument offers a lush, balanced voice suited for everything from fingerstyle to open-chord strumming.
This 1996-built guitar (the first year of the Premium or 35 Series) is a reminder of why George Lowden is so well lauded in the acoustic world. It's an enormous sounding guitar with an airy, open and resonant voice that is alive with overtones and harmonics. The sustain is endless, and it responds beautifully to the gentlest fingerpickers or hardest strummers. It's tremendously loud too, filling a room easily and keeping up with the loudest of voices. It has plenty of playwear and light scratches, and the top has aged wonderfully to a deep amber. There's a small dark area on the back of the guitar showing where the surrounding timber has lightened over the years, and small, surface-level dents and dings throughout. That aside, this is one of the most impressive Lowden's that we've ever heard, and it's aged to perfection. A powerhouse jumbo guitar with a distinctive sound and vintage looks. Includes original hardshell case.
